Steam Summer Sale Is Here!

OMFGBBQ!

We at Video Game Loft have been highly anticiapting drainign our bank accounts on yummy gooey gaming madness over at the steam summer sale. Finally we can!

http://store.steampowered.com/

The sale went live today and features 4 different types of sales.

The first are daily sales. These will change day by day from July 12-July 22 so make sure you check in to see if that game you have been wanting goes on sale.

The second are voter sales! This means that you can actually vote on whcih sale you want and every 8 hours the sale with the most votes will be available. This is one of the msot innovative selling ideas I have come across in a long time. Kinda takes the guess work out of mark downs.

The third are amazon-like “Flash Sales” that are only available for a short period of time.

The last are your standard 10 day long summer sale sales. These include games and bundles for as low as 75% off. This is a great time for gaming and I hope you all are finally able to snatch up all of the games you may have wanted but couldn’t afford. If you guys want us to get a certain game to play with you let us know!

One of the coolest things about this sale are the new steam badges. Everyone loves achievements right? And who doesn’t want a badge for buying a discounted game? I was awarded the level 7 Years of Service Badge. Man that’s a long time!

PC has always been my platform of choice, partly due to availability but mostly due to love for the mouse and keyboard. I am a graduate of Duquesne University with a BA in Digital Media Arts. I have decided to take my technical skills and apply them to something that I and my partners love, gaming. Some of my favorite games have always been the most intense team based ones. Games like Counter-Strike (1.5,1.6,CZ,Source), Unreal Tournament, Halo, and also the highly tactical parts of everyones favorite MMOs. I really hope you all enjoy this site as much as we are enjoying making it.

If your interested in a particular game, and its on a “normal” sale, I’d advise waiting until the very last day of the sale to purchase, just in case it does pop-up as one of those special “sales” or the flash sales.
